I'm really a Unix guy, so I wish I were doing this all on windows. I may
grab on old machine from storage to setup up using Linux. At least if an
old 300MHz PII will handle Merlin, Eclipse, etc... But for now, cygwin it
is.

That that big a deal since it will build under a command prompt, but I
imagine there's some weird ant/permissions stuff going on here.
