[users-biblio] inputting proceedings of conferences, etc in biblio

In the Bibliography Database, one of the types available in the Type  
field available is "Conference Proceedings." I am using a few papers  
from conference proceedings, so this should be helpful. However, I  
don't know where to input the conference name. For example, on of the  
papers is listed as being "In Proceedings of the Hawai'i  
International Conference on Systems Sciences (HICSS-39)." Where do I  
put that information in Bibliographic? Or does it even matter?
Along the same lines, I'm confused about whether I should categorize  
an article from a journal as type=journal or type=article. Maybe this  
doesn't matter either, but I'm not sure and would appreciate some  
guidance.
