Do you have anything in your log file that would help? (dist/logs/stdouterr*.log)
Try setting log.level=debug in your biomart.properties file to see more debug info. -jack On 11-05-19 12:42 PM, "Howard Wilder" <[email protected]> wrote: Hi Jack, So I have finally managed to get our biomart out of the firewall. Here it is: tparvadb.ilri.cgiar.org/biomart/martview <http://tparvadb.ilri.cgiar.org/biomart/martview> So for instance if I start the martconfigurator for Biomart 08: ./dist/scripts/martconfigurator.sh then on the add source, I add: tparvadb.ilri.cgiar.org <http://tparvadb.ilri.cgiar.org> then select "biomartschema" as the mart with all the default datasets then select "Muguga" as the value for "Add access point" then start the server. What you then get is a similar access point like what we have on biomart 0.7. Now here is where the problems set in: In the filters section: If you select "Chromosome 1" under the chromosome(s) selection which is under the REGION, and also select "EST" under the feature(s) selection In the attributes section: Select any or all of the attributes under the "Region & chromosome info" and/or "feature info" Results: Biomart 07: a table with results is presented. Biomart 08: no results found This is what I don't understand. Any assistance please? You want the latter type, and it should be timestamped with the current date. You may also want to set "log.level = debug" somewhere in your biomart.properties file, and do a restart on the server. The file should be under the dist folder. -jack On 11-05-16 12:50 PM, "Howard Wilder" <[email protected] <http://[email protected]> > wrote: Hi All, I was trying out biomart08 rc6. The installation went fine, and I was able to do a quickstart after having provided a URL to our working mart, and started the server. The only concern is that what works in biomart07 doesn't seem to work in biomart08. Basically, I could select a particular chromosome form a drop down list on the "filter" section and select a couple of attributes to be returned and this brings results, however this is not the case for rc6 after performing the same selections, it returns "no results found". Sorry I can't provide a URL to the BioMart07 as its stuck behind a corporate firewall, thus only visible internally. I can provide the error log though or any files that can help in diagnosing the problem, if you can point me to where this is on the release candidate 6 directory Many thanks Howard
