Hi mg,

the buildr website has a description of how this is done:

  http://buildr.apache.org/extending.html#layouts

- create a new Layout and configure it (e.g. java iso src/main/java)

  my_layout = Layout.new
  my_layout[:source, :main, :java] = 'java'

- define your project using that layout

  define 'foo', :layout=>my_layout do
    ...
  end
