In the unit test, I incrementally add routes and in between adding, I send 10 or more messages to make sure each route gets the messages. Then I stop a route, send data, and then re-add the route and send more data.
Cool, it's good to get the real time feed back about the issue that user found. I don't need to refresh my memory to go through the whole fix approach again. That's one of the good reasons why I love Open Source :)
