I guess you should exclude the hosts range from the management IP address
range. I use three different networks, one for external access (users),
management and storage.

So forth, I guess you missed something since when you add a host and it
gets the alert state, it means it was added to the CS and is going to be
used by CS, the alert state is shown until the CS check if everything is ok(
configs) with the host, if you wait a while and reload the page you will
see that the host is ready to be used.

I have seen this "Alert state", when I was adding a host that had a
different configuration from the others hosts in a cluster.
