I was unable to run cloudmonkey after applying your update.
My commands were:

$ git checkout username_password_support
$ git pull
$ python setup.py build
$ python setup.py install
$ cloudmonkey

Then I got this import error:
Import error in cloudmonkey.requester : No module named requests

Switching back to master branch runs fine, however.
