Ivan,

There's nothing stopping you from using RBD with Ubuntu alongside your existing 
CentOS hypervisors. Obviously you won't be able to live migrate and so on 
between them, but otherwise there's no reason it shouldn't work, it's still KVM 
at the end of the day.
