Hi Florian,

Yes we have experience with KVM and CloudStack (so does quite a few other
people in the community). The challenge with KVM is always storage. NFS is easy
but may not give you the performance you want, block storage is tricky since
you need either a stable clustered file system (OCFS2/CLVM/etc) or something
like CEPH. If you got sheepdog to work it would be a nice addition.

    Dear Dag,

sure will do so. You got experience using KVM with cloudstack? We do use
Xenserver right now but we would like to switch to KVM. We will start a POC in
about two weeks comparing both. Blockstorage solution will be ScaleIO but as
support by Cloudstack is not given we might end up testing sheepdog.

    All the best,
    Flo

    Hi Florian,

Not aware of this having been tried – but interesting concept. Please let
us know results if you run up a POC for this.

Performance? Issues? Best practice advises?
