What version of CloudStack are you currently using? Regards.

When I try to attach it to a VM, I get an error that states “Volume: KineticAPP-C is in Uploaded. It should be in Ready or Allocated state” The compute instance I am trying to attach it to has never been booted. The volumes I have are a C drive and data drive, so I want the VM to use these as its root and data disk. Do I have to do something different to allow CS to mount the volume? Also, this is not a “if I can’t get it working, it’s bad” scenario. If this doesn't work, no data will be lost. This is an exercise to see if we can recover a failed server in this manner. At this phase, the state of the volume is Uploaded - that is expected. When you attempt to attach it to a VM, it migrates to primary store. This is when the volume's state transitions to Ready. P.S Images do not come through on the Mailing list, so we can't see the image you have uploaded. I have uploaded some volumes that I want to attach to a VM, but they seem to be stuck in the uploaded state. There are no errors, they are just simple sitting at uploaded. [cid:image001.png@01DB8DF3.ED3BF320] My goal is to build a VM using these images as a test restore. Is there a way to create a compute instance from an uploaded volume? Regards, Marty
