GitHub user mawmaz edited a discussion: Trying autoscaling on CloudStack
Hi, I wanted try Autoscaling feature based on this [guide](https://www.shapeblue.com/cloudstack-autoscaling/). I installed the platform few times with the tutorial from @rohityadavcloud from their [blog](https://rohityadav.cloud/blog/cloudstack-kvm/) on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. However I think I'm missing or don't fully understand something in the network setup(s) that would make this work, I've read the documentation a few times and I still don't understand which CIDR or IPs are you supposed to fill in. My network is on 192.168.1.0/24 range. 1. I downloaded CentOS 7 template according to the first steps 2. I followed the guide by adding an isolated network with source-nat from guest network with a gateway and dns of 192.168.1.1, and acquired a public IP at 192.168.1.145 (it shows cidr as 192.168.1.0/24) 3. I go into the public IP and configured the load balancer for port 80 with Autoscale enabled as http load balancer, then exposing the http service from the firewall in the same place 4. Finishing the network setup by permitting outgoing traffic for the isolated network 5. Continuing by creating Autoscale VM Group exactly as told and confirmed 2 VMs initialized. The problem came after this in which I can't ping then public IP of 192.168.1.145 which was supposed to be accessible for http request, even with telnet on port 80 it still doesn't return anything. Can anyone tell what are my mistakes from any side of the config whether it be from the cloudstack or the network? Also the powerstate of the host is disabled if that's significant to help. Any help will be appreciated, thanks. GitHub link: https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/discussions/11111 ---- This is an automatically sent email for users@cloudstack.apache.org.
