GitHub user la-wu added a comment to the discussion: CloudStack-KVM integration
for Veeam B&R

Been able to set up the Tech Preview and it is nice to have Cloudstack with KVM
Backups in Veeam. After having some trouble setting up the worker VM (thanks
for the hint with the configdrive for userdata) I managed to get the first test
backups done.
I don`t know if my understand is wrong, but also the incremental Backups end in
a full read of the VM disk. I am used to vSphere and CBT where Veeam only reads
changed blocks and there for incrementals are much faster.

Within Shapeblue Release Notes for this Tech Preview it states on Page 7 for
Backup:
...
 3. CloudStack manages Bitmaps and Checkpoints for incremental backups
...

In my tests it doesn`t look like this. Veeam seems to be reading the whole VM
all the time. So the Full and incremental Backups take the same time (as our
test NFS is the bottleneck).

Any idea where and how to investigate this further ?
We use an Ubuntu 24.04 as KVM Host.
