You are doing this the hard way.  If you get Cocoon, modifiy
local.build.properties and local.block.properties and then do a build you
can then assume that everything in WEB-INF/lib should be in your classpath.
Although this is overkill, it will always work.

You should really look into using a build tool like ant, or better yet,
maven. A shell script may work fine for the single action you are building,
but this will get really old, really fast. Furthermore, ant and maven work
equally well on Unix and Windows.
