If you are using oracle 10 with OC4J then I reckon the
best approach is to keep the business logic in PL/SQL
stored procs and create for them  web-services via
Jdeveloper; this is a point and click process.

Once you have a web-services interface then you can
the stored procs directly from the cocoon sitemap.
Have a look at the Web Site Syndication block for
examples on how to call the web services. There are a
few bugs in this block so check my earlier post for
easy work-a-rounds.
