I don't mean that using Cocoon as a Java-framework is wrong, I just want to address that solving this issue can be much simpler than utilizing Hibernate etc, which seems to be the only answer users who need to "do stuff" with XML gets. :-)...

I'm all for having a good "zero-java code" way to work with databases for simple stuff, and your approach looks great. So if you can provide a sample it would be much appreciated I think.

The best place might be the Forms block, as I guess that's where people will go to look for such things. So if you can prepare a sample that fits in this block's sample, it should be easy to integrate it.
