Have to add in my 1/2c as well - as someone who has found 2.1 perfect for development with (heavy duty) programming, and for whom issues like packing, maintenance, asynchronous development, change management control production environments have never actually been issues (I am now wondering what it is I should have been worrying about all those years!!) C2.1 allows me to focus on delivering an application, rather than on messing around with debugging, building, deploying etc etc. That's what make it rapid!
I am now wondering if 2.1 will maintained at all, or if its time to start looking around for alternatives...
