Unfortunately, Continuum doesn't load plugin extensions, so it fails to understand the p2 repository type. You are welcome to file a bug for it to do that, or at least ignore it with a warning.
In the mean time, I'd suggest moving that repository out of the POM and proxying it via Nexus, or otherwise putting it in a profile that you can enable at build time that Continuum won't enable when trying to load the project to add it.
