With Linux software, you can be glad if that is the case even (if you can set where it will live, changes are you can put it wherever). Some Linux devs (and distros even more so) think it's perfectly viable to just stuff everything to /usr/bin. Heck Ubuntu puts pretty much EVERYTHING there. They should rather call it "bigmessydirwhereallbinarieslive" or something like that ;)
