Gets my vote to change. In a lazy bit of local benchmarking, my system sees bsdtar running slightly faster. bsdtar doesn't appear to handle tape (yet), but I don't know how much of an issue that is right now, and tape backup seems to be experiencing a slow fade, in any case...
