I meant doing 2 from the LiveCD too before rebooting from the hard disk.

I installed the OS normally, then I exited the livecd menu, typed
"root",
"fdisk -BIC /dev/ad0", rebooted, it still freezes on "Insyde
ACPI BIOS initalized (Version 3. 00.05)" , suffering succotash
