I'm not sure if demand is high enough if you compare it to the work needed to 
support new version of XMLBeans which is unknown for me.

You can treat this more like a favor 😊

Our case is rather simple - few old SOAP services generated from wsdl with 
usage of maven's cxf-codegen-plugin which we still have to support.

Some time ago CVE vulnerability has been found in XMLBeans 2.6.0 
(CVE-2021-23926) and we have to upgrade to at least 3.0.0 (5.0.0 now available).

And because new vulnerability might rise every day it's getting harder and 
harder to avoid breaking backward compatibility and to check if everything is 
working fine, especially when you're combining different version of cxf.
