JSF and CDI support have been contributed to Apache Shiro by the user
community, but have not been included in a release so far.
To fill this gap, these components are now available as an independent
project Pax Shiro [1], compatible with Apache Shiro 1.2.2.
With these extensions, Shiro does the job nicely and is easier to set up
than the Java EE "standard" security IMHO.
