Hi Guys,

I've had ApacheDS installed on my Mac for a couple of years now, but we
upgraded from Mojave to Catalina, and now the package was deemed "damaged,"
and to put in the Trash. I tried doing a fresh install of
apacheds-2.0.0.AM25-64bit.dmg, but that won't even go there, here's the
message:

This package is incompatible with this version of macOS.
The package is trying to install content to the system volume. Contact the
software manufacturer for assistance.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to move forward - Ideas?

So Apple changed the way software have to be installed on the latest Mac OSX versions, and we have not (yet) updated the dmg package to get it fixed. (see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-2154)

You can still run ApacheDS assuming you use the standalone packaged (Download Linux Binary installer <http://directory.apache.org/apacheds/download/download-linux-bin.html>). This is less convenient than the dmg, but it does the trick.

We are going to fix the issue, but I don't have a date for the next release...
