So glamor acceleration tears like crazy and stops if you vsync with compton and seems to stay tear free afterwards at least initially.
Also, TearFree has to be explicitly enabled in xorg and seems to fix the tearing as well (at least in Firefox scrolling a page) with glamor and dri3 enabled.
