Hi Stefan, You were right - I missed the init step.
You were also right that init is a really slow process; it’s still going after 7 days… does that seem normal? Also, every time I run vinum lp I get errors in /var/log/messages. loki# vinum lp P storage.p0 R5 State: initializing Subdisks: 6 Size: 9315 GB loki# tail -n 2 /var/log/messages Sep 30 06:32:24 loki kernel: vinumioctl: invalid ioctl from process 17520 (vinum): 40906468 Sep 30 06:32:24 loki kernel: vinumioctl: invalid ioctl from process 17521 (vinum): 40906468 (It’s two rows each time.) I’m fine to keep waiting for a really long init, I’m just starting to think it will never finish… - Andrew > On 22 Sep 2016, at 12:51 AM, Stefan Unterweger > <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi Andrew, > > Vinum is weird enough that I have fumbled around quite some time before > finally getting it to work, and had to give up on lvm as well.
