Scanning the ssd for bad sectors is worth the trouble. Your problem is in the boot section. Marking the first few megabytes useable will not be detrimental. You need another working computer to do this. Can you install a couple megabytes AFTER the start of the disk? Your boot block will go in there regardless. Jonathan Engwall
