Όπως και να έχει παιδιά, στο χέρι μας είναι να προωθήσουμε το OpenOffice. Δωρεάν είναι.. Διαφημίστε το όπου μπορείτε - δυκτιακούς τόπους οπουδήποτε! Συγκεκριμένα εγώ έφτιαξα τις ασκήσεις του μεταπτυχιακού μου απ' την αρχή σε OpenOffice και τις έδωσα σε PDF και ODT ενημερώνοντας τους καθηγητές πως όποιος ενδιαφέρεται μπορεί να κατεβάσει το openoffice για να κάνει edit τ' αρχεία μου. Κάποτε είχα ως υπογραφή στο e-mail μου, τον δικτυακό μου τόπο και μαζί τον τόπο του OOo - αλλά δεν στέλνω πολλά e-mail :P. Kαι την ΕΕΕργασία μου την έκανα βάζοντας απ' έξω το σύμβολο του OO. Ενημερώνω διάφορα YGroup όποτε μου δίνεται ευκαιρία, και σε μερικά όπου διανέμω κάποιους κώδικές μου δίνω τ' αρχεία μόνο σε ODT φόρματ (ή και λίγα PDF για να δελεάσω). Πρόσφατα, πήρα μια template ενός διεθνούς συνεδρίου από .doc και την έκανα template σε openoffice, στέλνοντάς την στο συνέδριο. Αυτοί την καλοδεχτήκαν (χρησιμοποιούσαν .doc και .latex) και την ανεβάσανε και στο site ως template για download για τους χρήστες OpenOffice (eusipco 2007). Τα πάντα τα κάνω σε OO και με κάθε τρόπο το προωθώ σε φίλους και γνωστούς - αν και οι περισσότεροι αδιαφορούν!
Δυστυχώς έχουμε και αυτά τα ECDL που αναγκάζουν τους ανθρώπους να μαθαίνουν το MSOffice, με αποτέλεσμα μετά να μην δίνουν δεκάρα για το OO. Στην τελική όμως στο χέρι μας είναι να το προωθήσουμε.. έστω και λίγο ο καθένας..... Όσο για την επιστολή στα καταστήματα. Δεν ξέρω.. Μου περνάει όμως από το μυαλό να στείλω ανώνυμο e-mail να τους ενημερώσω :Ρ. Αλλά το να εγκαθηστούν extra προγράμματα - τα οποία δεν είναι αρκετά διαδεδομένα (σύμφωνα με τα δικά μου στοιχεία), χωρίς κάποιο κέρδος νομίζω είναι λίγο δύσκολο! Μη ξεχνάμε πως η εγκατάσταση θέλει έστω και λίγα λεπτά, αλλά αυτά τα λεπτά γι' αυτούς είναι χρήμα!...
