Hi,
I am quite new to OSGi so please excuse my ignorance, but isn't the WAB
format now the preferred one, with the OSGi Enterprise 4.2
specification? How would one produce the wab bundle, is there an easy
way to do this with Maven?
That is precisely what I tried to do with the Maven BND plugin. It
worked so-so on simple tests, but my real webapp it couldn't handle, as
it doesn't know how to deal with embedded dependencies properly (or so
it seems, given the lack of replies to the initial post).
For my project, we have now given up on the whole idea. The packaging
using Maven BND doesn't work, and we had way too many issues just trying
to deploy it in Glassfish/Felix for it to be really comfortable. Now we
have reverted back to simply deploying WAR files, which works ok. WAB's
are a great model in theory, but it's not there yet in practice.
