Got it - but when I use a full path on the -config=<xml file> value, I get 
'Installation Aborted', which may have been half the problem. I had to change 
to the directory that the xml file was in, and reference the binary using the 
full path. I'm wondering if mounting the application from the command line 
allowed the program to exit based on 'installation aborted'?

I can verify that this works as advertised.  Although it was on Windows.
No reason why it won't use the specified xml file on a Mac.
