We're looking at adopting freeipdb for tracking utilization of our ARIN IP
blocks, but I had some concerns. ARIN's application for additional
assignments requires that members account for how they've utilized their
previous allocations down to how many /24's worth of space are used for
various categories of services, and in at least some cases, ARIN will want
some kind of justification for larger customer assignments.

My main concern was that if we move from our current system (a flat file
with a lockfile wrapper) to freeipdb, the new system would have to support
the sort of categorization of IP assignments we currently do in our flat
file (when people obey the format). I found that this had been posted
about:

http://www.mail-archive.com/users%40freeipdb.org/msg00025.html

These changes don't seem to be in any of the released versions. Access to
the CVS version (including cvsweb) seems to be down. Did the
Justification & Uses tables ever make it into a working version of
freeipdb?
