I have installed gecode 3.7.1 and now it seems to work fine.

The moral is that the version 2.2 don't work with gecode 3.6.0

That's very odd!  The flush method is supposed to be inherited from
Gist::TextOutput.  Does it work when you replace flush() by
Gist::TextOutput::flush()?
