Hi Sascha, no there aren't any concrete plans or a roadmap yet. What I can say is the following: Since ExtJS v6.6 is only available as commercial version we cannot support this (although I talked to some people who used GeoExt with ExtJS v6.5 successfully, even it is not supported officially). If there will be a non-commercial ExtJS v7, which is fully ES6 compliant, we might support OpenLayers v5. Let's see what happens.
