I neeed your help. I tried libreoffice but decided that I prefered open
office. However in the process I signed up with the user group to ask more
questions. Now I can't get unsibscribed from the group.
I have sent several messages asking to be removed but I continue to get
multiple messages every day.
Perhaps you can pass along my request to the group administrator. I believe
I signed up using "dwabar" as the user name.
Thank you.

productivity tool within universities
Hi, :-)
It sounds like what you're wanting to do is undocumented within the
short life of the LibreOffice community but *needs* to be nurtured by
the LibreOffice community for your needs and for other educational
institutions.
As one of the documentation team, I'll be pleased to be a specific
liaison point to help you deal easily with the project and get the
support and cooperation you need, and to repatriate the learning and
best practices to the LibreOffice project.
May I suggest that you sign up for our documentation mailing list [1]
and tell us more about your project and what you'd like to develop
with the community?

You have sent your answer only to me, Leon, so I'm replying and at the
same time sending your mail to our user mail list. That's where the
experts hang out, all of them users of LibreOffice, none of them
employees, just willing volunteers. Keep an eye on the list for answers to
your question, and please ensure you reply to all users, so that your
replies go back to the list. You can also access the list via a forum-like
interface at http://www.documentfoundation.org/nabble (You'll have to sign

List members please note to include Leon's email address in replies as he

I teach at a small university, and I'm looking for information.
I've downloaded the documentation for LibreOffice, and it looks very,
very good.
We're considering not joining the herd, we're considering teaching
Writer, Calc, and Base, instead of MS Office, and we'd like to consider
using the documentation as a base document.
Question: Has anyone written a textbook, using the documentation as a
foundation, which would give additional information, practice problems,
and the like?

You have got to several, Leon. What's your problem?
