In all fairness there is a huge difference betwen using a word processor and a 
spreadsheet for many similar tasks. The table function in writer can resemble a 
spreadsheet, but ,as  your client mentioned, the spreadsheet has a different 
view 
(sheets) than the one page view of a word processor. 

I do the same, use writer & tables instead of a spreadsheet for my business 
forms, 
faster, easier, better formatting options.

Good to promote free software, I have stopped promoting here though, prefer 
attraction :-)
