Baloney. You can have as many different programs that do the same thing as you want. What I think you meant to say is you can only have one program *associated* with any one *filetype* at a time. I've been using OOo (now LibO) and Microsoft Office installed side by side for years with zero problems. You just need to know how to manage these things.
