Hi :) OpenJDK is also run by Oracle and suffers about the same. I'm not sure about the best version numbers numbers for that either. I don't know if the community that work hard on that are able to free it from Oracle in the way that TDF freed LibreOffice from them.
I don't know if it is still possible to get a copy of the older version of java from the Oracle website. You used to have to register at their site to get them.
