You should back up your profile every month and for every time you change versions of LO. 3.4.6 to 3.5.4 yes. 3.5.3 to 3.5.4, or 3.5.4 to 3.5.5, still yes.
I think if you have a good working profile for LO, you should back it up so if your profile gets corrupted you will have a working one to fall back on.

Hi :) I think it is worth backing-up your user-profile before upgrading. Unlikely things do go wrong occasionally https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/UserProfile http://www.murphys-laws.com/murphy/murphy-true.html The trick is to make it work in your favour. If you do make a back-up the chances are you wont ever need it and will have wasted your time. If you don't back-up then chances are you will regret that and have to waste the next chunk of time fixing things. Is this a known phenomenon? Or did I do something wrong? I would like to make sure that I won't have to go through this process again when LibreOffice 3.6 is released.
