Hi Don, I don't use Kubuntu but will give an answer that SHOULD work. I occasionally run chown on my entire ~/ folder (/home/user/) just to avoid any problem with permissions caused by backup/restore, upgrades, and additions. chown -R username:users /home/user/ the -R ensures recursion through all that users sub-directories Tom -- “What we do for ourselves dies with us.
