As other readers will know, that's not the usual behaviour. You clearly don't realise that what you experience occurs only because you subscribed to the nomail versions of the lists. And that's just as clearly not what the questioner did. (Nomail is mentioned at the web site only in a footnote.) The questioner's problem was - as described - the well-known behaviour of his Gmail account ...
