"MirosławZalewski": Perhaps these are reasons why most modern operating systems (Mac OS X, iOS, Windows 8, Android) have "stores" built-in, which essentially **are** repositories.
They are as different from Linux repositories as it can get. There is only one appstore for all clients and it always have the recent version of the software.
