Hi Dale: Be aware that, due to some quirks, you are better off not creating an index until your document is pretty well complete.
There is still (as of the 4.3 alpha line) no way to remove inserted index markers throughout the text if you change your concordance file; this means that if you remove something from the concordance file, it will still show up in the index (assuming of course that any referenced items remain in the document). You can only remove these markers one by one manually, or by following the procedure I outlined in http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Removing-Index-Markers-from-Writer-a-How-To-tt4094327.html#a4095645 . The other thing you will notice is that each time you simply add something to the concordance file, an additional marker will be placed by each matching item in the text. So, if you want to remove them manually, you may often need to backspace or delete multiple times to remove what looks like just one marker. But, indexing does work - and pretty quickly - it just needs some refinement and perhaps better documentation. Best of luck. -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Creating-an-Index-tp4105602p4105661.html Sent from the Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
