Hi :)
The problems you are running into are very unusual.  It sounds like there
is a problem with your operating system (probably Windows Xp?).

The best i can suggest is to;
1.  try fully uninstalling LibreOffice
2.  shutdown your machine (means switch it off)
3.  switch it on again
4.  reinstall the newer LibreOffice

Steps 2 and 3 tend to fix a lot of problems on most computer systems (errrr
excluding server machines)
