Hi :) Errr, this goes against my previous advice but what happens when you then save in .Doc and .DocX formats?
Does the .DocX one change your font-colour back to black? If both do then probably best to send them the Doc version. It 'should' be possible to select the whole area and force it all to be black but there might be some weird MS XML coding in there that is making it all act weirdly. Usually if i have to do any editing at all to a DocX and return in the same format then it kinda goes ok as long as i do as little as possible to "tidy up" the crazy formatting. Is there any chance of uploading a small part of the form to Nabble or somewhere so someone can see how it looks back in MS Office?
