If you choose an ascending sort then it will sort A to Z; descending will sort Z to A. I believe that as long as there is one non-numeric cell then it will sort based on characters rather than values, but someone else should confirm that.

Hi Folks,

I have all my data in Column A.

I wish to sort alphabetically.

I highlight all the data in every cell in column A, choose Data>Sort
but in the criteria I don't see anything for alphabetically,

How does one sort alphabetically?

Thank you!
