And to add my 2 pence worth. Lyx, another WP that I use,
adds an asterisk * to the heading, if there has been any
unsaved change to the workfile. Easy to see at all times.

Cheer,
Gordon.

I strongly disagreed with this decision but it was made by UX and was on

fact that you can now save even when there has been zero change is
irritating to say the least.

But, the doers decide, and they decided this one ;)

Hi,

sorry for jumping into the tail end of a conversation but whenever I
make changes to a document I can see a red dot in the toolbox at the
bottom of the screen. Save the file (CTRL-S) and the dot goes away.

Cheers

         Curiously wondering why you'd want this to be dimmed;
if it were so, then you would be unable to save the
document ;-)

*The save tool could not be dimmed *

I updated my LibreOffice for Windows, and I am using 5.1.2.2. Several
days
ago, I noticed that the SAVE tool could not be dimmed even when I saved
something.

I attempted to go to

*Tools | Options | LibreOffice | General | Document Status |*
*so that I could uncheck *

* | Allow to save document even when the document is not modified|*

*I did not find *

*| Allow to save document even when the document is not modified|*
but I found

*| Printing sets "document modified" status | * checked

I unchecked it, but I found that nothing changed.

How can I dim the SAVE tool when I save something?

Just a suggestion with the Save button appearing not to dim after
saving.
Do you have
"Allow to save document even when the document is not modified"
selected under the LibreOffice > General Options?

This sometimes means that the save button does not dim as you can still
save again.

Just a thought
