Well, I don't think the problem could be into LibreOffice. LO doesn't operate directly onto the file system, but asks the operating system to do it.
Probably you are operating in LO with files located on network shares: this way, deletion is definitive, no matter LO, if no specifical technical solutions have been implemented.
