Chris -
When you search for " :-" sans quotes, is that a hyphen in the search or
a long dash?
If you highlight the text you want to search for and then do Edit > Find
and Replace, the highlighted text should appear in the Find field, and
should be found.
The Google suggestion doesn't make sense to me, and regular expressions
shouldn't be involved for this.

Hi,
When interrupting speech in a story, think dramatic pause, it seems
you are NOT supposed to leave a space between the previous word and a
dash, en, em, or long. I used the interpreted colon (:) method for my
pause and did leave a space. Now I have to correct all that. I was
hoping there was a way to use find & replace.
Google told me to try turning off auto replace in Tools -> Auto
correct -> options. Tried that. Doesn't seem to have worked. I still
see the long dash in the text and find says can't find search key when
I give it " :-" sans quotes. Tried turning on Regular expressions and
still no search key found.
IsĀ there any way to automate fixing this or do I have to slog through
to whole story by hand? Thanks.
