I don't know a whole lot about Mate, but if you have a Software Manager, open it and search for 'font'. I think most people can get by with only these 4 font programs installed:
fonts-crosextra-caladea fonts-crosextra-carlito fonts-noto-unhinted ttf-mscorefonts-installer If you don't have a Software Manager, then do a web search for how to remove the Asian fonts. That can cut your fonts by more than half. Mike On 7/15/26 15:05, [email protected] wrote:
I am sorry - I should have included an important item of information, but neglected (forgot) to so do (Plurry Irriot - me); I am running Linux Mint Mate 21.3, based on Ubuntu Linux Mate 22.04 LTS as the underlying OS platform. I do not thence know whether the problem lies with Libre Office itself for the automatic inclusion of the extraneous language packs, or, whether it lies with the Ubuntu package maintainer. But, If I could find how to perform a simple (?) blanket removal (including the thence blocking of further downloads) of the extraneous language packs, it would be useful, including making Libre Office and future updates, more efficient and less bloated.
