It can't hurt - with or without Safe Mode. LO is good about saving unfinished
documents (but make such notes as you can).

At least now you are in the land of Guinness,

Thank you, that means a lot.
You have inspired me to restart my computer in Safe- Mode and see what it
brings me?
We have been living in Ireland for just over 4 years, after living in Australia
for nearly 17 years, and prior that in South Africa for 55 years. Since moving
from the Southern Hemisphere to Northern Europe's furthest West country, I am
convinced, that not only have I  not seen the Light's, but in fact I have become
dumbed down dim to the extent that I am feeling swtched off.
Thanks again for your email response, that has given me a kick start.
Daniel.

I'm sorry, Daniel: you are almost certainly beyond needing this reply,
which brings no relief in any case, because your problem is probably not caused
by LibreOffice. You don't say what operating system (that's usually a crucial
piece of information), but sometimes there's no substitute for having someone
on the spot who can look at your computer screen and diagnose the problem.

And in the best of lives, with the best of savvy, tech servants will fail
us sometimes, and we should be prepared to revert to a time before tech
servants. As you have no doubt seen by now, the sooner you write things down,
the more easily you will recall what you had on your screen. Happy birthdays to
your wife and to you.

    John
