GitHub user Dierk added a comment to the discussion: Should we improve the
default UI/UX for generated applications in Grails 8
+1 for updating the visuals, especially as created by the scaffolding
+1 for dropping all CSS library or framework dependencies and not introducing
new ones (what is popular changes quickly)
+1 for using "modern" html features: input type="date", popover, dialog,
detail, with respective a11y
+1 for using "modern" css features: @import, @layer, container, nesting, grid,
flex, custom properties ("CSS API"), intrinsic design etc.
if the team decides to go forward with this idea, I'm happy to contribute and
possibly get some of my (master) students involved.
BTW: we use Grails at my university to teach web application basics and best
practices.
